Where do we start. We are located on the western edge of the incredible Dartmoor National Park. We are minutes from Cox Tor, Pew Tor, Sheepstor, Burrator Reservoir and the beauty of the western moor.
A short drive into the moor leads to Princetown, Two Bridges, Postbridge, Widecombe-in-the-moor and the other key towns and Tors.

Burrator is located a few minutes East of Yelverton and less than 10 minutes from us.

Tavistock is a thriving market town and the ‘eastern gateway’ to the World Heritage Site - the only World Heritage town in Devon.
Explore the shops, cafes, elegant houses and villas, public buildings and museum in Tavistock, extensively re-modelled in the 19th Century by the 7th Duke of Bedford. Take a Heritage Walking Tour, walk or cycle the Tamar Trails around Devon Great Consuls. Ride the train on the Tamar Valley Line through stunning scenery, over breathtaking viaducts and through key mining communities. Discover Morwellham Quay and Cothele House.Then put on your boots and take a walk up Cox Tor and Staple Tor or towards Pew Tor via Windy Cross.
Lopwell is located on the narrowing River Tavy to the south west of Yelverton. It is a great safe place to explore the estaury via paddleboard or canoes. Or just walk alongside the river taking in the scenery as it widens to the South.
Keep an eye on tide times as launching is easier at higher tide.
Buckland Abbey is the 700 year old Grade 1 listed estate located about 5 minutes from our location.
The property is famed for it's links to Sir Francis Drake and is currently owned by the National Trust. See their website for more details and what's on.
Plymouth is a hugely under-rated city in our opinion. While noted for it's naval connections there are great facilities and interesting areas to explore.
Check out the Hoe for coastal walks and cafes as well as the Tinside Lido for summer swimming, the Barbican area for cobbled streets with boutique shopping, cafes and restaurants.
Royal William Yard has excellent restaurants, shops, seafront walks as well as a tidal pool and access to great paddleboarding.
Visit the National Marine Aquarium, the Barcode cinema complex, The Box museum, the Theatre Royal Plymouth or just enjoy the excellent shopping at Drake's Circus.
Lydford Gorge is another National Trust location , located about 30min away. It is the deepest river gorge in the South West with optional walking distances and spectacular views of the 30m high WhiteLady Waterfall.

Cotehele House is a National Trust house from the Tudor era. Visit the house and the quay and take a walk from the house to the town of Calstock with spectacular views of the river.
There are so many beaches nearby to try. South Devon coast is easily accessible in locations near Plymouth. Good beaches on the South and the North Devon coasts are about 45min-1 hour away. Many parts of Cornwall are an easy day trip too.
